Welcome to Essence of Sìth, pronounced “shee,” it’s Scots Gaelic for peace and that’s exactly what I want to bring you here, a little bit of peace and time for yourself. I’m a Body Shop at Home Consultant and for me, it’s not just about selling products, but rather how you FEEL whilst using them and promote positivity, well-being and self-care.

I’ve been working on my own self-care, self-healing and ultimately self-love journey recently and I’d like to share that with you, so you can start your own journey. Even if that simply means starting by running a hot soapy bath, lighting some candles, lathering up your skin with some nourishing products and switching yourself off from this sometimes hectic and troubling world and focusing on yourself for an hour, or so.

So, I started Essence of Sìth at a time of my own self-healing from possibly the worst mental health I’ve felt in my life. Spreading myself too thinly, working two jobs, nights and days for years, taking absolutely zero time for myself. What did I do in my spare time? Caught up on sleep…I wasn’t living, I was surviving!

After becoming furloughed from my night shift in the hotel industry and continuing my day work in the funeral industry, seeing such impact on lives everywhere, I finally woke up and things had to change! I permanently left my night job and started making myself a little bit more of a priority. I tried new things to see what could help me, as past coping mechanisms no longer had the same effect they used to. I started asking for help when I was struggling, instead of trying to carry everything on my own shoulders. I started saying no to things, if they overlapped my own plans for that day or week. I started opening up on the bad days and letting my loved ones know, instead of silence or “I’m fine.” I started reconnecting with old friends, instead of shutting everyone out, and that’s what’s led me to here…reconnecting with an old school friend who is a Body Shop at Home Consultant and decided to join her team. Now I can work Essence of Sìth around my other job, prioritise time for myself and hopefully help some people along the way. My future goals include growing Essence of Sìth, by broadening our range to not only include Body Shop products, but also handmade personalised gifts and keepsakes. 🤗
